LeBron James and the best Halloween costumes of NBA players, ranked

Spooky SZN is always an interesting time for NBA fans. Why, you ask? Because once Halloween hits, the players channel their inner children and dress up in costumes! Of course, since these are multi-millionaire NBA players we’re talking about, they go absolutely nuts with their fits, rivalling those of professional cosplayers at times.

With that in mind, let’s look at some of the players who absolutely went nuts on their costumes and blew the competition out of the water.

Honorable Mentions around the NBA

5. Tyrese Haliburton

In just his second year in the league, Tyrese Haliburton has proven himself to be an integral part of the NBA scene. If not for his contribution for the Kings, the league should just keep him in solely for his Halloween costumes.

Just, look at this Grinch costume! It looks so good, and he topped it off with the dog for good measure! Clearly, that’s a top-tier Halloween outfit. (via Sacramento Kings)

4. Karl-Anthony Towns

Okay, this is actually very creative. On it’s own, Towns and his girlfriend Jordyn Woods’ outfits are nothing out of the ordinary for NBA players. I do love the concept of being Towns (a Timberwolves player) playing the Big Bad Wolf role, even though his costume is as simple as it goes.

However, what takes it over the top for me is the caption. I love a good pun, and that caption is one of the best puns I’ve seen.

3. Damian Lillard

In the midst of all this scary costumes going around NBA players, let’s take a moment to appreciate a wholesome costume from a relatively wholesome man. Damian Lillard, instead of going for the “supernatural” route, instead went with a family-friendly, insanely cute Flintstones costume with his family

All you can say, really, is “Awww!”

2. LeBron James

Ah, LeBron. When it comes to Halloween fits, no one does it better in the NBA than the King himself. He’s had some amazing costumes over the years, such as an eerily accurate Pennywise cosplay and this awesome Edwards Scissorhands costume.

Not to disappoint, LeBron went with another terrifying costume that will send shivers down the spines of NBA fans. This Freddy Kreuger outfit is downright scary, with the realistic prosthetics and the signature claws for hands.

1. Anthony Davis

Well well, looks like Anthony Davis didn’t want to lose to LeBron in this instance. Like LeBron, Davis donned a Candyman costume that’s just so intricate and terrifying you HAVE to give it props. It’s very realistic, so much so that NBA fans on Instagram couldn’t tell that the person underneath was AD. That’s the mark of a great costume.

However, what took it over the top for me was the Candyman cheeks. God, those look so realistic and so hair-raising. Imagine walking down the street and seeing this 6’10 Candyman. I’d run faster than you can say, “pick and roll!”
