James Harden was forced to leave Wednesday’s game between the Rockets and Nets due to tightness in his right hamstring. He did not return.
Playing against his former team, Harden had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes before exiting with 4:48 remaining in the third quarter.
Without Harden, Brooklyn closed the game on a 24-4 run to beat Houston 120-108 and grab sole possession of first place for the first time in 2003.
Harden’s availability for the second half of the back-to-back set Thursday vs. the Hornets is now in question.
