But one person they’re reportedly interested in is still playing in the NBA.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, ESPN is eyeing Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green for some kind of role. Per the report, it would only be for part-time work so as not to interfere with his NBA schedule.
If Green were to take on such a role, it wouldn’t be the first time that he’s been an on-air analyst. He’s worked with TNT covering NBA games in the past, so he’s not without experience.
Green isn’t the only NBA figure that ESPN are looking to bring on board of course. NBA legend Magic Johnson is reportedly in their sights as well.

ESPN is often going through turnover, but rarely have so many big talents departed or been reassigned in such a short span.
Rising star Maria Taylor departed in favor of the greener pasture of NBC. First Take co-host Max Kellerman was reassigned this week, while NBA analyst Rachel Nichols has been removed from her programs.
Draymond Green may be perfect for ESPN’s NBA coverage. He’s knowledgeable, doesn’t flinch in front of cameras and not afraid to give some hot takes.
