The Miami Heat have gotten off to an incredibly slow start to the 2020-21 NBA season. After representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals last year, they have not come out looking like a championship caliber team. That could lead to the franchise looking to make a move at the trade deadline and Andre Iguodala is a name that has popped up in rumors.
CBS Sports took a look at players who could be dealt ahead of the deadline and Iguodala was one of the candidates mentioned.
Like last year, the Heat will likely be looking to solidify their playoff rotation at the deadline, but that salary on an effectively expiring contract means that Iguodala could potentially be on the other end of a trade this time.
While the Heat may not look to trade Iguodala, there are plenty of teams around the league who could use a veteran like him in their rotation. He may not be a high level scorer anymore, but he can defend and fit into any offensive system.
So far this season with the Heat in 31 games and two starts, Iguodala has averaged 4.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. He has shot 39.4 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line.
His numbers may not scream “impact player,” but there is no doubt that he can still have an impact. For contenders looking to make one final tweak to their roster, he would make perfect sense.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three teams who should look into trading for Andre Iguodala.
