The Golden State Warriors are going to have some interesting decisions to make in the 2022 season. They are unlike every other contending team for the most part because they have so much young talent who are making an impact for them. Golden State will also have some more talent with James Wiseman who’s going to come back and help this team out.
Golden State does have some guys on their roster who are their big players who are a bit older in their careers. They aren’t going to get any younger and that could make the Warriors decide to move some of their younger pieces if they do feel like this is their best opportunity to win a championship in the near future.
In order for Golden State to do exactly what they are going to want to do this season and in the future, they’re going to have to make some tough decisions and are going to have some areas that they are going to need to avoid.
Let’s take a look at three areas the Warriors must avoid in order to find the success that they are hoping for this season and in the future.

Warriors Must Avoids 2022
3. Do not trade the young guys
The Golden State Warriors are going to be in a tough position at the deadline because they could feel like they might have to move some of their guys if they can get back an immediate impact player. This isn’t necessarily the craziest thing if they do decide to get rid of somebody, but they have to be very selective about which of the younger players they do want to get rid of. Getting rid of James Wiseman or Jonathan Kuminga just wouldn’t make much sense from the Warriors perspective because even though they might not be as good as some other players that they could get in return, they are still very young and could help this team just because of how good the Warriors are already.
When James Wiseman does make his return, he will not be a negative for the Warriors. He might not be as good as somebody like Myles Turner at the moment, but he will not be bad for the Warriors and he will certainly help them out.
Golden State has to realize that they do have some young guys who could be intriguing to move because they are almost in a win-now situation due to a couple of their stars being older into their careers, but they also have to factor in that those young guys are good enough to help them win an NBA title and they are the future of the organization.
2. Make a move for a rim protector, but be very smart
The Warriors desperately need a rim protector and there’s really no denying that. Even when Wiseman does return, he’s not necessarily a guy who defends the rim at a high level.
The Warriors are certainly good enough to win an NBA title with their current roster as we have seen, but it would be much easier if they have a guy with big-time paint presence. Other teams aren’t going to be able to attack them there. In the playoffs, many teams like to run pick-and-rolls and play an inside game at times. The Warriors have to make sure that they have somebody who could defend the rim in the playoffs. The issue with all this is that all the elite rim protectors in the NBA at the moment are going to be tough to get unless they do trade James Wiseman.
It would be questionable for Golden State to decide to get rid of this kid, but if they do not like what they see from him in his short time back before the trade deadline, it could make sense that they do decide to get rid of him even though it would be kept questionable because he’s only in his second year and has shown some very promising moments for this Warriors orginazation.
1. Stay healthy and finish the job
There’s not much more that needs to be said about the Warriors. They’re one of the best teams in the NBA and they’re only going to get better once they do get Klay Thompson back, who will be returning on Sunday, and then James Wiseman who should be returning sometime soon.
The only mistake that the Warriors can really make outside of trading some of their younger guys is going out there and not finishing the job by winning an NBA title. With all the talent that they have on their roster, anything short of a championship is going to be a disappointing season for Warriors fans, the front office, and the players.
Stephen Curry is going to have to return to how we was playing at the beginning of the season after a few weeks of him playing some down basketball. There’s no reason to think that this is going to continue because he is one of the best to ever step on the court.
