Paddy Pimblett is ecstatic to finally begin his UFC debut on Saturday morning.
Paddy Pimblett will finally make his UFC debut Saturday morning at UFC Vegas 36 from the UFC APEX. Many have compared the ex-Cage Warriors champion to former double-champion, Conor McGregor, and it’s for good reason. Both men are of Irish decent and bring in electrifying fighting styles and personalities into every contest.
Pimblett is 16-3 overall and will be taking on Luigi Vendramini during the main card portion of the event. His 12 finishes have already made him one of the hottest debutants in recent memory. Therefore, it’s hard to deny him the opportunity to showcase his skillet in MMA’s No. 1 promotion for the very first time.
Pimblett is extremely thrilled to finally have the opportunity to hit the Octagon canvas for the first time. In his pre-fight media scrum, he elaborated on what the journey thus far has meant to him.
“It’s just [amazing],” Pimblett said. “It was always meant to be. Everyone knew that I was gonna end up eventually being here, so it wasn’t a question of if I was gonna be in the UFC, it was a question of when. And the time has finally arrived. I’m here, and I’m here to make a statement and to let everyone know who the boy is.”
Paddy Pimblett was a double-champion in Cage Warriors
During his stint overseas, Pimblett was a force to be reckon with and was a double-champion in Cage Warriors for a portion of his young career. At only 26-years-old, he’ll look to make even more history as he works towards his quest of being another world champion from Europe.
But only time will tell.
