LAS VEGAS – UFC president Dana White declined an in-depth comment on Conor McGregor’s latest controversial headline.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, was accused of punching and breaking the nose of famous Italian singer and DJ Francesco Facchinetti this past weekend in Rome.
According to a statement from the DJ and an alleged first-person account from Facchinetti’s wife, the pair were having an enjoyable night out with McGregor when a discussion came up about relocating to another party. It was then that McGregor alleged punched Facchinetti for no apparent reason.
McGregor and his representatives have yet to release a comment on the accusation. On Tuesday, White was asked for his thoughts on the situation. However, he said he doesn’t have enough information to offer insight, nor has he talked personally with McGregor about the alleged incident.

“We talked about it a little bit today in matchmaking – I don’t know enough about it,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters post-fight at Dana White’s Contender Series 44. “I honestly don’t even know enough about it to comment on it. Obviously I’ve seen what you guys have – you guys have seen more than me, actually, to be honest with you. I haven’t talked to Conor, so I don’t know what the truth is. I don’t know exactly what happened. So to comment on it, I really can’t.”
McGregor, 33, has been sidelines since his trilogy-fight loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July. The Irishman suffered a broken leg in his first-round TKO, and has been on the mend over since.
An ability to fight hasn’t kept “The Notorious” out of the news, though. McGregor has made headlines for a confrontation with rapper Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV Video Music Awards, as well as several unflattering Twitter tirades.
Dana White’s Contender Series 44 took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event streamed on ESPN+.
