Marlins No. 10 prospect Monte Harrison and Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine will come together at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday for a hangout on MLB’s Instagram Live channel, and they’ll have a few connections to discuss.
For one, both Harrison and LaVine possess the kind of dynamic athleticism that separates themselves even from many of the superb talent around them. Harrison is seen as a potential all-around star with big raw power and plus speed on the bases and in center field, while LaVine is a two-time Slam Dunk Contest winner and an elite scorer in the NBA.
But apart from that athleticism, Harrison and LaVine share a unique link that bridges the gap between baseball and basketball: Harrison’s older brother, Shaquille, played alongside LaVine on the Bulls during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 NBA seasons. Monte Harrison made history when he debuted for the Marlins in August, as he and Shaquille became just the fourth set of brothers to play in MLB and the NBA.
So, mark your calendars for Saturday night, and don’t miss the chance to hear from two of the most exciting athletes that baseball and basketball have to offer.
