There’s action on the diamond spread all throughout this Wednesday, with the first game getting underway at 1:05 p.m. ET. The five-game early slate on DraftKings begins at 3:10 p.m. You could also take your chances with the three-game afternoon slate, the seven-game main slate at 6:10 p.m. or just the two-game nightcap at 7:40 p.m.

Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Wednesday, April 21st.
Astros vs. Rockies, 3:10 p.m. ET

The Astros’ lineup won’t be completely whole today — Jose Altuve remains on the COVID injured list, and Yordan Alvarez will be relegated to pinch-hitting duties in the National League park — but getting Bregman back is huge for a team that has underachieved for the bulk of the season. The Astros haven’t scored more than five runs in any of their previous nine games, but they could break out against lefty Austin Gomber.
A relative soft-tosser, Gomber throws his 92 mph fastball about 45 percent of the time, and although the surface stats are nothing special, opponents’ expected slugging percentage against his fastball is a robust .581. He also gets himself into trouble with a 20% walk rate. Even with a couple of marquee names missing, there’s too much talent involved for Houston’s offense to continue to slump. A game in Coors Field against an unimpressive lefty could be just what they need to post some crooked numbers on the scoreboard.
Braves vs. Yankees, 6:35 p.m. ET

If you have rostered stacks facing non-Gerrit Cole Yankees pitchers, that has probably paid off handsomely thus far. We’ll use that tactic here with the Braves, who, even likely without Ronald Acuna Jr., should be able to best Corey Kluber. There’s no need to sugarcoat it: Kluber has been awful through three starts. His velocity is down. He’s not fooling anyone with his offspeed stuff. He’s already allowed three homers in 10.1 innings and, after being a superb control artist for most of his career, he has issued seven walks during that span as well. I think he will improve as the season ages, but he looks really vulnerable right now, so you should feel confident deploying any of these Braves in your daily lineups.
Blue Jays vs. Red Sox, 7:10 p.m.

The Blue Jays should be much better than 22nd in slugging percentage and 25th in on-base percentage. However, that’s not Guerrero’s fault; he has been mashing all year long and currently owns a 1.125 OPS, fifth-best in the majors. Bichette, who hit a majestic home run on Tuesday at Fenway Park, has also been good along with Grichuk. They all have a decent chance of succeeding tonight against right-hander Garrett Richards. Opponents have posted a .321 average and a .500 slugging percentage off of his fastball, which has helped bloat Richards’ ERA up to 6.00. You could really stack either team in this matchup — the Red Sox lead the league in runs scored, and Trent Thronton isn’t terribly threatening — but I’ll side with the lineup facing the lesser pitcher.
