The New York Mets got a late start to their season after their first series was postponed due to some of positive COVID-19 tests from the Washington Nationals.

Ultimately it made sense for Major League Baseball to use caution when dealing with this outbreak of COVID, as there would be ample amount of time for these division rivals to make up the games they missed to start the year.

Now MLB has announced what the makeup dates for this series will take place, as the Mets and Nationals will play a few additional games throughout the season to a account for the games they lost.

Here are the following makeup dates:

June 19: Split doubleheader as part of scheduled series in DC.

June 28: Single game to be played on what was previously a mutual off day.

September 4: Split doubleheader as part of scheduled series in DC.

The New York Mets and the Washington Nationals will officially meet for the first time this season on April 23rd, for a three-game series that will take place at Citi Field.
