The Central Connecticut women’s lacrosse squad fell at Monmouth, 21-2, on Sunday in the season-opener at West Long Branch, NJ. The Blue Devils got goals from junior Olivia Gianakos and sophomore Margot Doraz in the game.

KEY MOMENTS
- Monmouth opened the contest with the first 10 scores of the game. The Hawks led 9-0 at the end of the opening quarter.
- After a goal by the Hawks to open the second period, sophomore Margot Doraz scored at the 9:36 mark to get Central on the board. MU would score three more goals to take a 13-1 lead into halftime.
- Monmouth had the first eight scores of the second half until junior Olivia Gianakos converted a free position shot with 2:17 remaining to close out the scoring.
