August 25, 2021 – National Lacrosse League (NLL) – Colorado Mammoth News Release
In celebration of the 2021 NLL Entry Draft, we’re taking a look at what’s going on for this year’s NLL Entry Draft; We’re talking live streams, giveaways, social contests, player shoutouts, real-time interviews and ALL of the behind-the-scenes content you can handle!
(And perhaps, the fan-favorite Making the Mammoth series will return for its third season?!?)
After making 11 selections in the 2020 Entry Draft, Mammoth General Manager Brad Self and staff are slated to make five selections throughout the exciting evening from the Ball Arena War Room.
The organization is now tasked with selecting the next players to represent Mammoth Lacrosse on Saturday evening. Currently scheduled to make selections in rounds two through six during this year’s draft, Colorado holds rights to selections at the following positions:
20th Overall Selection (2nd Round)
44th Overall Selection (3rd Round)
54th Overall Selection (4th Round)
69th Overall Selection (5th Round)
83rd Overall Selection (6th Round)
“We’re thrilled to be where we we’re at right now with personnel heading into training camp, but we’re also always looking to the future,” Self shared. “The NLL is definitely blessed to be welcoming talented players into the League each year, and we’re excited to see how the evening pans out for our organization.”
Since teams around the league haven’t had many chances to work in-person with last year’s NLL-eligible draft selections, general managers are faced with a variety of unique factors heading into the 2021-22 NLL campaign. Athletes who returned for their 2021 Spring NCAA seasons are also set to join teams at training camps this fall, along with the potential for any selections from the 2021 Entry Draft who aren’t returning to school.
“It’s a draft unlike any before honestly; Given the circumstances and growing amount of talent available to clubs this year, this is definitely an important time for our organization as we continue to analyze our roster and project for the future – All while making sure we can come out and execute at a championship level this winter,” Self shared. “That said, I feel that we’re in a good position to secure some talented players and hope everyone is able to tune in and enjoy the evening.”
