LONGMEADOW — Mother Nature was certainly not cooperating this week, as Longmeadow and Scituate prepared for their Division 2 State Semifinal matchup in Longmeadow. After Tuesday night’s game was canceled, a 3-hour lightning delay put Wednesday evening’s game in jeopardy. To the credit of all game officials and administrative decision-makers – the two finally got to faceoff last night, at 9:30 p.m.
With the game taking center stage, it would be the Lancers who would build and extend a lead, then hold off a spirited Scituate squad, defeating the D2 SDouth Sectional champion, 16-12, and setting up a date with Concord-Carlisle in the D2 State Championship game on Friday at 1
