After the Grand Slam in Antalya some changes apply to the IJF World Ranking. Germany’s world champion Anna-Maria Wagner is back to the world number one position after her gold in Turkey. In the final she overcame Guusje Steenhuis after an exhaustive contest. In the World Ranking she passed Madeleine Malonga who forfeited her bronze contest against Audrey Tcheumeo. Wagner was also leader in 2021 after the Olympic Games but droped out after she had a break.
Also Portuguese Jorge Fonseca made a move outside the tatami, he became the new world number one U100kg and passed Arman Adamian of Russia. Fonseca was also number one in 2021 after his world title but Adamian won a few events since then.
Heavyweight Guram Tushishvili came closer to world ranking leader Tamerlan Bashaev (RUS) and jumped from 4 to 2 +100kg. Another winner on Sunday Ivan Felipe Silva Morales ranked himself 7th after being 18 last week, that makes sense.
Another spectacular jump for Guilherme Schimidt of Brazil who is now 8th while being number 16 last week. The biggest jump of this week is for Giorgi Terashvili, the Georgian teen who was not even in the top 100 last week, now he is ranked among the best thirty at 29.
Mongolian lightweight Narantsetseg Ganbaatar improved her position from 39 to 20 U48kg. Hungaria’s rocket Reka Pupp moved up from five to two U52kg after her golden performance.
U70kg winner Marie-Eve Gahie moved back kinto the top 10 from 15 last week. Heavyweight winner Lea Fontaine is now ranked 6th from 13.
Winners Klimkait, Vieru and Yang stabilised their world leading position.
