JudoInside – News – Luka Mkheidze out for nine months knee injury

Olympic bronze medallist of France Luka Mkheidze injured his knee severely. At a training camp in Mongolia with the senior group Mkheidze had to be repatriated to France following a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee. An operation will follow by rehabilitation estimated between six and nine months.

Mkheidze : “I have the anterior crusader. With the medical staff, we waited 10 days to reflect and find the best possible solution. The solution is the operation and behind 6 to 9 months of reduction before getting back on the mats with a gradual recovery. Obviously it’s hard for me to be away from the mats for so long but that’s how you have to accept it and deal with it. I tell myself that in life there are more serious things and that it remains only sport. In any case, I can’t wait to come back, but I’ll have to stay patient and make my comeback step by step.”
