Former Executives of the Greater Accra Handball Association, GAHA on Thursday, 30th December, 2021 paid a special visit to the family of the late Acting Handball Association of Ghana president Nortey Dowuona.
The high delegation visit was to commiserate with the family over the loss of their beloved who passed away some few days ago in Accra after a short ailment.
The late Nortey Dowuona played a vital role in the development of handball in the country. He was very enthusiastic on the progress of the game.
As acting national president, he represented the nation at all internationally recognized engagements by the International Handball Federation, IHF and the Confédération of African Hanbdall, CAHB.
He was a beacon and left an exemplary legacy at every West Africa zone (III) games as well as Ecowas games.
The delegation was led by former GAHA president, Mr. Paul Kofi Yesu.
He used the opportunity to sympathize with the family and urged them to stay strong and not to loss hope. He assured the families of their support.
A book of condolences was signed by Mr. Paul Kofi Yesu Dadzie on behalf of the former Executives.
He eulogized the late Nortey Dowuona as a strong pillar in the Handball fraternity.
Among the delegation were former General secretary, Eric Sena Adjeyi, E.S Sabutey, RSD Technical Director, Gifty Okai, former executive member, and Harrison Duodoo, IT expert.
