2:24 pm. I think that wraps things up…stick with me and I’ll share results!
2:22 pm. Zoe Miller USA BB: Bhs loso was okay, just a little iffy in some form and on the landing. Front aerial, nice work on her jumps, Onodi, doesn’t rotate it all the way and ends up falling before she can pull her chest up. Double pike, chest down and a step back.
2:21 pm. Lisa Vaelen BEL UB: 13.567 (5.5, 8.067)
2:19 pm. Konnor McClain USA BB: Standing full looked a little off center but still no problems sticking it! Bhs bhs layout, looooovely. Full turn, switch leap, pauses, doesn’t connect to the switch half, little check there. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, good there. Side aerial, switch ring maybe wasn’t exactly where it needed to be, and she dismounts with a double pike, solid landing, just a small hop. 13.933 (6.0, 8.033, -0.1)
Manila Esposito ITA VT: Solid FTY. 12.967 (4.2, 8.767)
2:17 pm. Ana Maria Barbosu ROU FX: Double wolf turn, did it REALLY high, not squatted at all. Switch full. Tucked full-in came in a little low and had some form issues. Nice 2.5 to front tuck. Double pike, a bit deep. Double tuck, oh no, comes up really short and lands hard on her head. That was not fun. She’s crying, poor thing. 10.967 (4.5, 6.467)
Keziah Langendock BEL UB: I saw her fall in the background earlier. 11.267
2:16 pm. Veronica Mandriota ITA VT: Ooh, a DTY from her! The second twist wasn’t the cleanest but got it around pretty well. 13.933
2:14 pm. Elle Mueller USA BB: Punch front mount, good! Double wolf turn. Punch front, slow to the split to straddle jump but love her extension on both. Side aerial to layout stepout, some knee form. Switch leap. Switch half. Double tuck with a step forward. Really nice work. 13.433 (5.4, 8.033)
2:13 pm. Maria Ceplinschi ROU FX: Huuuuuge switch full at the start. Double layout with a big bounce backwards. Full-in, wild landing but kept it upright. Hop L turn. Double tuck to punch front, I’m actually thrilled she punched out of that because it looked like it was going to be short hahaha. Double pike a little deep at the end but solid otherwise. I love her so much! 13.000 (5.2, 7.800)
2:12 pm. Angela Andreoli ITA VT: Solid Yurchenko 1.5 and also did a Yurchenko half-on front layout, with a hop forward there.
2:11 pm. Shilese Jones USA BB: Standing arabian, deep on the landing but love it! Punch front also strong. Bhs loso, leg comes up on the landing. Switch leap to switch half. Side aerial. Cross split jump half. Double tuck with a hop back. Not bad! 13.467 (5.8, 7.667)
2:09 pm. Ioana Staciulescu ROU FX: Tucked full-in, some form but not too bad. Hit the second pass, it was like 10 seconds ago and I’ve already forgotten. Double tuck at the end.
2:06 pm. eMjae Frazier USA BB: Full turn, front aerial, leg up, split jump to straddle jump, punch front, solid. Split ring jump, side aerial, cross split jump half, bhs layout, solid there as well. Switch ring with a bobble and leg up. Double pike with a step back. I’d say this was like 80% fantastic.
Asia D’Amato ITA VT: DTY, really great landing. With the way the commentators were screaming during eMjae’s beam I thought she would’ve done a stuck Yurchenko triple or something. It was…fine? LOL. Does a Lopez for her second vault, another good landing.
2:05 pm. Andreea Preda ROU FX: Memmel to illusion. 2.5 with absolutely wild legs to punch front. Double pike with a small hop back. Switch full. Double tuck, ugh, pulls back too hard on the landing and ends up falling.
2:04 pm. Martina Maggio ITA VT: Yurchenko 1.5 with a tiny hop forward.
2:03 pm. Warmups look like they’re just about done, about 30 seconds left!
1:59 pm. Rotation Five Standings
1. Canada 152.266
2. France 150.767
3. United States 123.232
4. Italy 120.434
5. Romania 115.100
6. Belgium 111.933
1:55 pm. Silviana Sfiringu ROU BB: I didn’t see the beginning, caught up from the illusion turn (big wobble). Tour jeté half, nowhere near 180 in the split, she looked so half-hearted going into it…big wobble there as well. Switch leap to sissone, also not GREAT on the split there but the sissone was fine I guess. Double full dismount.
Anna-Lena König GER UB: 11.600 (4.3, 7.300)
1:52 pm. Desiree Carofiglio ITA FX: Front layout to double front, sits it. Ugh. Piked double front hit. 1.5 to front pike.
Ana Maria Barbosu ROU BB: 12.667 (5.7, 6.967)
1:50 pm. Ellie Black CAN UB: Maloney to Hindorff, blind change to piked Jaeger, Pak, van Leeuwen (some leg form), blind full, tucked toe front half, stuck. No Shang today, I like that she’s downgraded for now though, she doesn’t need to go all out. 13.033 (5.7, 6.967) – Wow, these judges are NOT playing on bars!
Ioana Stanciulescu ROU BB: 12.900 (5.4, 7.500)
1:48 pm. Louane Versaveau FRA FX: Tour jeté half. Double tuck with a little bounce back. Hit the second pass. Double wolf turn. Split jump full. Double full with a hop to the side. Hop full L turn to switch half. Nice work from her! 12.233 (4.4, 7.833)
Maellyse Brassart BEL VT: Just doing the FTY here, really nice. 13.033 (4.2, 8.833)
1:46 pm. Ava Stewart CAN UB: Toe-on to stalder full (late) to Maloney to Tkachev, a little close. Arched over in handstand before the stalder to Pak. Van Leeuwen, blind change to front giant to piked double front, a bit low and had to step out of it but her pike form was really nice, especially in the first flip! 13.300
1:45 pm. Morgane Osyssek FRA FX: Tuck full-in, hop back OOB. Front layout stepout through to double tuck. Tour jeté full, not the cleanest but love that she went for it. Double pike, a little wobbly, ends up stepping back. Switch half at the end.
Keziah Langendock BEL VT: 12.533 (4.2, 8.333)
Laurie Denommée CAN UB: 12.467 (4.9, 7.567)
1:43 pm. Maria Ceplinschi ROU BB: Candle mount, 1.5 wolf turn, side aerial, split leap to sissone, bhs layout (probably downgraded?), switch leap to split jump to back tuck, double tuck dismount, ugh, not quite there and she puts her hands down. 11.900 (4.6, 7.300)
1:42 pm. Coline Devillard FRA FX: Double layout, steps back. Split jump full. Front layout stepout through to double full, hop back. Double tuck at the end was strong. Really solid work from her here! She looks a bit rushed in some areas but showed lots of power. 12.000 (4.7, 7.300)
Andreea Preda ROU BB: We didn’t see it but she got a 12.267 (4.8, 7.467)
1:41 pm. Noemie Louon BEL VT: Solid FTY, good distance on that. 12.833 (4.2, 8.633)
1:39 pm. Jenna Lalonde CAN UB: Stalder full, only makes it halfway around, tries it again and has the same problem, comes off this time. Hit the rest after re-mounting. 11.167 (5.0, 6.167)
1:38 pm. Célia Serber FRA FX: Triple full, ugh, still twisting on the landing and ends up really wild, flies OOB. Double pike with a step back. Memmel turn. Front tuck through to double full with a hop back. I like this routine a lot choreo-wise. 10.867 (4.7, 6.467, -0.3)
1:37 pm. Lisa Vaelen BEL VT: Handspring front pike half, really nice! 12.800 (4.0, 8.800)
1:31 pm. Rotation Four Standings
1. USA 123.232
2. Italy 120.434
3. France 114.267
4. Canada 113.466
5. Romania 77.266
6. Belgium 73.267
The top four here have done three events while Romania and Belgium have only done two. USA and Italy will head to beam and vault, respectively, in the sixth rotation – they’re both on a bye in the fifth.
1:27 pm. Desiree Carofiglio ITA BB: Hit her leap mount, and then missed a foot on the bhs loso series but stayed on. Why does the Italian team have like 50 people on it and then she’s just by herself with France??? Switch leap to switch half, break at the hips, I didn’t see details on the rest but think she hit everything!
Sorry I’m not fully engaged today, I’ve had a few calls and texts come in for work so I’ve had to turn my attention and I’m like please leave me aloneeeee!
1:25 pm. eMjae Frazier USA BB: Arched over before the Nabieva to Pak, toe full (looked like her toes actually slipped or just came off too early but no problems) to Maloney to Tkachev, caught really close and the sound the commentator made had me crying laughing, front toe-on, and a double layout with a little hop. 12.767 (5.8, 6.967)
1:22 pm. Manila Esposito ITA FX: Looked like she wanted to punch into a layout out of her first pass but came out really short and ended up punching to a front handspring. Good job thinking quickly on her feet! Or hands. 1.5 to front full with a big step forward, split leap to…a kind of weird switch after that, couldn’t really tell what she was going for. Double tuck was clean in the air but she stumbled back out of it, I think OOB. Memmel to illusion. 12.133 (5.0, 7.233, -0.1)
Zoe Miller USA UB: We didn’t see this but she got a 14.033 (6.5, 7.533)!
1:21 pm. Célia Serber FRA BB: Ooh, she had a back roll to handstand! Also really solid on a mixed series. Lots of really fluid connections. Hit the dismount.
Anna-Lena König GER VT: Tsuk tuck full with a hop. 12.367 (3.8, 8.567)
1:19 pm. Angela Andreoli ITA FX: Came in really short on the double layout at the start. Front tuck through to full-in was much better. Switch to switch full. Hit the last pass as well!
1:18 pm. Ellie Black CAN VT: Handspring front full, sat it. Layout position was a little iffy as well.
1:16 pm. Veronica Mandriota ITA FX: Hit the first couple of passes, I only saw the landings, nothing severely wrong. Switch ring to switch half, Mustafina turn…wait my stream just stopped and went to Shilese? I think I was behind and it jumped me up to be current. I’ll have to go back and watch this again, she apparently did a whip to triple.
Shilese Jones USA UB: Stalder full to Maloney to Tkachev, arched over in the handstand before a Ricna to Pak, van Leeuwen (ankles apart), toe half to front giant to double front, hop back.
1:14 pm. Silane Mielle FRA BB: Hit a leap mount and then a leap series. Bhs loso looked a little crooked, break at the hips but she saved it from falling. Front aerial, missed a foot and stumbled but stayed on. Side somi, ugh, fell there. Double wolf turn. Front layout full dismount with a hop.
1:12 pm. Jenna Lalonde CAN VT: FTY, a bit deep on that landing.
Asia D’Amato ITA FX: Full-twisting double layout with a lunge back. Arabian double front with a hop forward. Popa. Switch to switch full. Double pike, chest down but a super solid landing. Also solid on the double tuck, just slightly moved one of her feet.
1:11 pm. Konnor McClain USA UB: Weiler half to Chow to blind full (tiniest ankle separation) to Church to Pak, bent her legs significantly when catching the Pak but didn’t break her rhythm AT ALL, wow. Van Leeuwen I think back up to the high bar, and a clean double pike with a step back.
1:09 pm. Martina Maggio ITA FX: Big double layout, not the greatest landing but not that bad either! Front through to double back. Full-in, a tiny bit deep but also not super bad. Double pike with a big hop back.
1:04 pm. Current Standings
1. United States 81.333
2. Italy 80.767
3. Romania 77.266
4. France 75.734
5. Canada 74.766
6. Belgium 73.267
12:59 pm. Manila Esposito ITA BB: Back handspring mount right into the bhs loso, love. Switch leap, side aerial, little step. Hit an aerial to jumps, little tick tock down into her wolf turn, did a solid double. Double pike dismount, landed deep, but really nice routine!
12:57 pm. They’re going back to show us some USA vaults!
eMjae Frazier USA VT: DTY, some leg form and a step back.
Konnor McClain USA VT: DTY, cleaner and tighter, big hop back.
Zoe Miller USA VT: Clean FTY.
12:55 pm. Silviana Sfiringu ROU UB: Clear hip to Maloney to clear hip full (legs apart) to Pak, toe-on to van Leeuwen (leg separation there as well), blind change to straddle Jaeger, was a little iffy in the handstand before the dismount with some little adjustments to hold it up, and just a back layout dismount.
12:54 pm. Maellyse Brassart BEL FX: Double L turn, turning leg was way too shy of horizontal. Double pike at the beginning had a wild landing, looked like she hit a weird spot on the floor and kinda punched backwards OOB. Also not the greatest landing on the second pass.
12:53 pm. Angela Andreoli ITA BB: We jumped into this routine halfway through. Okay, never mind, we jumped into it right before her dismount. Just the double pike today.
12:52 pm. Maria Ceplinschi ROU UB: I couldn’t type during this one but it was a hit set!
12:49 pm. Margaux Dandois BEL FX: Double L turn, nice toe point! High double tuck with a small hop back. Front full. Switch ring to switch half. Tour jeté half. Double wolf turn, also with toe point! Double pike, a little deep on that landing.
12:47 pm. Asia D’Amato ITA BB: Layout stepout mount with the tiniest adjustment, bhs loso with a little wobble, switch leap to split jump half, a little iffy there. Side somi. Front aerial to split jump to back handspring was nice. Switch half. Full turn. Double pike with a small hop.
They stopped showing scores regularly by the way, hahaha. WHY.
12:45 pm. Keziah Langendock BEL FX: Memmel went a little wild. Double tuck was strong. 1.5 to front full. Switch ring to tour jeté half. 2.5 with a step forward OOB.
12:44 pm. Martina Maggio ITA BB: Bhs loso loso with a wobble and a leg up, switch ring, side aerial, front aerial, wobbled, didn’t connect out of it. Side somi. Double pike was solid.
12:42 pm. Noemie Louon BEL FX: Double pike, small hop back, then her double had a really low chest and a step. Hit the last pass.
12:41 pm. Giorgia Villa ITA BB: Off on her mount and then again on the tuck full. Ughhhh. Switch to split jump. Double turn with a wobble. Side aerial. Double full with a hop back. 11.967
12:40 pm. Zsofi Verleden BEL FX: Hit a double pike near the start of the routine. Memmel turn. Switch ring to ring leap. Double full with a lunge. Front full, knees were bent.
12:39 pm. Elle Mueller USA VT: Sat her Yurchenko 1.5.
12:37 pm. Okay, for teams that have competed two events, it’s France with a 75.734 and then Canada with a 74.766…then the one-event teams are Italy 41.400, Romania 39.699, USA 39.333, Belgium 36.100, Italy II 23.533.
12:33 pm. Second rotation is complete! I didn’t see the team scores…but I did discover this rotation that they’re showing the individual scores at the bottom of the screen.
12:31 pm. Silviana Sfiringu ROU VT: FTY, I didn’t see it, but she got a 12.900 (4.2, 8.700)
12:29 pm. Desiree Carofiglio ITA UB: Wasn’t typing but she hit her opening series, was a little short on the handstand before her toe shoot, ugh, sat her double front.
12:27 pm. Anna-Lena König GER FX: Double tuck with a bounce. 1.5 to front full. 2.5 with a step forward.
12:25 pm. Margaux Dandois BEL BB: Off on her bhs loso. Switch to switch half, nice extension but bobbles on the landing. Korbut. Front aerial to a jump, double tuck, to her hands.
12:23 pm. Laurie Denommee CAN FX: Excellent double layout! Front layout to front full, hop back. Switch to switch half. Front tuck through to double pike, step back, toe looked like it was maybe OOB.
12:22 pm. Maria Ceplinschi ROU VT: DTY, pretty strong and solid. 13.733 (5.0, 8.733)
12:21 pm. Silane Mielle FRA UB: I wasn’t typing for this but it was a hit routine. Double layout could have a bit more power but otherwise good!
12:20 pm. Cassie Lee CAN FX: Double tuck, hop back. Switch to switch half. 1.5 to front full. Double pike, really deep on that landing. 12.467 (5.0, 7.467)
12:19 pm. Ioana Stanciulescu ROU VT: FTY, pretty clean. 13.033 (4.2, 8.833)
12:18 pm. Célia Serber FRA UB: Van Leeuwen, some leg form, toe half, muscled through to the piked Jaeger, Pak, Maloney to Gienger, blind full, full-twisting double layout, way too low, lands on her knees and flies forward. 11.933 (5.4, 6.533)
12:16 pm. Jenna Lalonde CAN FX: Double tuck, a little slow in rotation, step back. Front layout full with a step. 1.5 at the end.
Ana Maria Barbosu ROU VT: FTY, not huge, little things in the air. 12.933 (4.2, 8.733)
12:14 pm. Noemie Louon BEL BB: Side aerial to back handspring, full L turn, switch to split jump, wolf turn, front aerial, 1.5 dismount. 13.033 (4.8, 8.233)
12:13 pm. Ellie Black CAN FX: Hit her first pass but I got a call on my computer and it paused the stream so I missed a little. Came back in at her layout pass. Front full with a hop. 11.500 (3.5, 8.000)
Andreea Preda ROU VT: Didn’t see what she did but only an 11.467 score (3.0, 8.467).
12:12 pm. Still going through the touch warmup for rotation two!
Romania’s gonna start on vault, btw! U.S. must be on a bye then.
12:06 pm. Right now, Italy leads with 41.400, followed by France with 40.034, and then the U.S. with 39.333. Still a second half to the first rotation I think. Or are they doing a bye maybe? Oh yeah, France is on bars so it looks like a team will be on a bye (Romania is also here and they haven’t competed yet).
12:03 pm. Manila Esposito ITA UB: Church to Pak, Maloney to Bhardwaj, caught a bit high but no problems, van Leeuwen, blind change to front giant half, blind full, double pike dismount with a baby step. 13.133
12:02 pm. Anna-Lena König GER BB: Wasn’t typing during this but she had a fall early on and when she re-mounted, she fell immediately ON the remount. It’s devastating because she’s 15 and brand-new to senior competition, and also hilarious. Had a third fall as well.
12:01 pm. Angela Andreoli ITA UB: Maloney to Pak to stalder to Chow to Ricna, stalder to inbar half to front full pirouette to Jaeger, full-in with a hop. Not the tightest but hey!
11:59 am. Zoe Miller USA FX: Double wolf turn, double layout was lovely! She’s lovely in general. Full-in, a little bobble there. Switch to tour jeté half with a hop on the landing. Front through to double full, another little bobble. Split jump full. Double pike with a step backwards.
11:57 am. Laurie Denommée CAN BB: Roundoff layout, good leap series to a split jump. Front aerial to straddle, really short on that jump. Had a couple more solo acro skills and a full turn, side somi had a big wobble but she saved it, cross split jump half was short and had a wobble. Front layout full with a hop.
By the way, no live scores that I can find. Hopefully the stream will update us between rotations!
11:55 am. Konnor McClain USA FX: Full-twisting double layout, some soft form but it looks better than it did in Germany. Strong double layout after. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Double wolf turn. 1.5 to front full, tiny shuffle forward. Double pike, a bit forward on the landing, pulls back and it takes her OOB.
11:53 am. Alice D’Amato ITA UB: Maloney to Tkachev, Downie to Pak to Chow half, ugh, I think she released for that too early and she ends up missing the high bar. Gets it the second time but not as part of a series. Front giants into a full pirouette, she is like one centimeter away of getting it to vertical but it’s just enough to pull her in the wrong direction and she has to hop off. Back on for the dismount, a high double front with a step…I think this is her first time out since getting injured at Serie A back in February?
Morgane Osyssek FRA VT: Yurchenko 1.5, went really far!
11:50 am. Shilese Jones USA FX: The Jones! Full-in half-out double tuck. Double layout, maybe a tad short, but not bad. 1.5 to front full, ugh, skids and sits it. Double L turn. I think I missed something.
11:48 am. Coline Devillard FRA VT: Handspring rudi, form was everywhere, but hit with a lunge.
Asia D’Amato ITA UB: Nabieva to Pak, they cut away for a sec, but she had a pirouette on the low bar, Maloney to Tkachev, pirouettes went okay, double front with a hop.
11:47 am. eMjae Frazier USA FX: Strong jump at the start. Double double, really good! Tiny step back. Super strong on the double layout as well. Switch ring to a leap with a full but couldn’t see the leg position on that one. Double wolf turn. Front layout stepout through to double tuck, big step OOB but she’s still showing tons of power this late in her routine which is excellent! I think she usually tends to run out of steam on some passes but she was ON today.
11:46 am. Célia Serber FRA VT: Decent FTY.
11:45 am. Ellie Black CAN BB: Hit the leap mount to leap to Korbut, very nice double full, into a full turn which she stumbles on and there’s a struggle to get it to the straddle jump. Punch front, solid. Bhs back tuck, looked like she maybe balked what she meant to do. Side somi. Front layout full dismount.
11:44 am. Elle Mueller USA FX: 2.5 to front tuck with a hop forward OOB. Hit the second pass and her leap series, the leaps were very nice. Double tuck with a lunge back.
11:43 am. Giorgia Villa ITA UB: Okay I wasn’t typing during this routine because they cut into it really fast after showing some more Italian chaos in the background (people on stilts, balancing on exercise balls, etc) but this was an excellent routine! 14.100 (5.8, 8.300)
11:40 am. Warmups wrapping up now. Let the Shilese Jones comeback begin!
11:38 am. Apparently Ashlee Sullivan injured her elbow. Horrible. She was having SUCH a great start to her season, and was injured all of 2021 as well. This on top of the COVID year…just sad for her.
11:35 am. Okay, it looks like we’re actually about to get started here. PRAISE.
11:33 am. The U.S. just did their intro and it looked like Ashlee Sullivan was missing. She may have been the one taken out on the stretcher earlier. 😦
11:27 am. Okay, Romania and Belgium have now been introduced with their performances and anthems. Maybe someday we’ll get to watch the meet.
11:25 am. Some drama with these team intros now. France’s music didn’t work. Now Sophia Campana (she’s from the U.S. but moved to Italy to train and compete) is interviewing the U.S. about how they like Italy.
11:21 am. The teams are being introduced now with their national anthems playing. Canada had a whole Beauxbatons circa Goblet of Fire performance. Why is this hilarious?
11:18 am. Well, while we wait, the juniors – which didn’t have an official live stream earlier – saw three U.S. gymnasts take the podium, with Tiana Sumanasekera winning gold, Madray Johnson winning silver, and Myli Lew winning bronze, all within about three tenths of each other. The U.S. – which also had athletes fourth and fifth AA – also won the team competition, by nine points! Not bad.
11:15 am. The little clowns are still tumbling. I feel like this all could’ve taken place like a half hour ago but whatever. Another dance team coming out now.
11:10 am. More performances, from a dance team and now it looks like mimes? Little mimes. Little dancing mimes. Now there’s a clown act? I think a clown is trying to force a child into a suitcase. Oh, no, they’re taking flowers out of it and giving them to more tumbling clowns. Living for all these wee ones.
Someone in the background just got wheeled out on a stretcher. Couldn’t remotely tell who it was but I hope they’re okay.
11:05 am. Some wee ones are performing right now to open the meet and they’re basically doing this superior elementary school activity, my heart!
