Women’s Golf Earns Third-Consecutive Match Play Top-Three Finish with Runner-Up Placement at the Battle at Boon

FLORENCE, Ky. – Facing just the team’s fourth-ever match-play event, Morehead State women’s golf claimed its third-consecutive top-three finish at a match play event, wrapping up the Battle at Boone with a runner-up finish.

The Eagles opened the event with a 4.5-1.5 victory in the team’s first match versus Northern Kentucky to advance to the championship match. Morehead State narrowly fell in the championship match to Central Michigan, who took the match 4-2 with three of the Eagles’ dropped pairings close into the final two holes.

Morehead State returns to the course a week from Monday, taking aim at the Pinehurst Women’s Intercollegiate. Play at Pinehurst Resort’s No. 6 Course begins on March 29.
