VACAVILLE — Ben Wilhite and Jack Mitchell both carded 42s and Vacaville High had its top four players finish in the 40s to earn a 227-287 Monticello Empire League boys golf victory over rival Will C. Wood at Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Tuesday.
Dylan Dzierman was next for the Bulldogs (4-0) at 44, followed by Cody Jensen at 49 with Tyler Riley right behind at 50.
William Booth led the Wildcats (1-1) with a 45, followed by Sean Riley at 49, Nick Talaverra at 62, Joshua Reed at 65 and Clayton Young at 66.
Armijo defeats Fairfield: At Paradise Valley, the Royals earned their first win of the season with Nathan McNaughton leading the team with a 72. Next were Stephen McDaniel at 74, Joshua Rusit and Spencer Merodio at 75 and Ciaran Simmons at 77. Tying Armijo’s Joel Ward at 79 was Fairfield’s Damien Golder, while Rocky Reyes of the Falcons carded an 80.
