BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Utah State’s golf team is in fourth place following the first two rounds of the South Dakota State-hosted Jackrabbit Invitational on Friday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
No. 43 UNLV leads the tournament at 15-under par, with Southern Utah in second at 2-under-par and host SDSU in third at 11-over par. The Aggies finished the day at 12-over 588 after firing rounds of 286 and 302.
Utah State fifth-year golfer Chase Lansford was 1-over for the day. He began his Friday with an even-par 72 in the morning, followed by a 1-over 73 in the afternoon, leaving him in a tie for 16th. Colten Cordingley, currently ranked No. 23 in the nation, is tied for 22nd at 3-over par. The junior carded rounds of 70 and 77, respectively.
Senior Andy Hess and redshirt junior are tied for 26th at 4-over 148, while freshman Javier Vazquez is tied for 52nd at 16-over. Playing individually, junior Cameron Tucker is tied for 43rd at 12-over.
The final round of the Jackrabbit Invitational will take place on Saturday.
