Donald Trump took to his golf course on Sunday, hours after the Alabama Republican Party declared him ‘one of the greatest and most effective presidents’ in US history.
The former president teed off at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, with four friends while dressed in a white polo, navy slacks and a white baseball cap.
Trump had spent Saturday evening at an event at Mar-a-Lago, where the Alabama GOP presented him with a framed resolution lauding his accomplishments as president.
But he was attacked on his record the next morning when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed the Trump administration for the growing crisis at the US-Mexico border.

‘This is a humanitarian challenge to all of us,’ Pelosi told ABC’s This Week. ‘What the administration has inherited is a broken system at the border and they are working to correct that in the children’s interest.’
Pelosi revealed there are 600-700 more unaccompanied children arriving at the US-Mexico border than there was during the 2019 peak of minor detention during Trump’s presidency. Facilities are now over capacity by around 700 percent.
Biden’s administration is struggling to deal with the growing crisis at the border as agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have become overwhelmed with the amount of migrants flowing into the US by way of Mexico. Biden finally sent in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Saturday as agencies resorted to calling for volunteers to help.
Immediately after being sworn in on January 20, Biden took steps to undo Trump’s hard-line immigration policies – including putting a stop to construction of the southern border wall.
During his campaign, Biden made it clear the US would accept all those seeking asylum, leading to a wave of migrations from central America and now a swamped immigration system. The administration, however, still refuses to call the situation at the border a ‘crisis.’
Pelosi says the situation is no fault of Biden, instead blaming Trump.
‘The Biden administration is trying to fix the broken system that was left to them by the Trump administration,’ Pelosi told reporters at the Capitol on Sunday.
‘The Biden administration will have a system based on doing the best possible job understanding this is a humanitarian crisis,’ she assured.

Members of the Alabama Republican Party struck a very different tone on the topic of Trump on Saturday night as they presented him a framed copy of a unanimously-passed resolution praising his presidency.
‘The resolution, basically, it just talks about the greatness of Donald J. Trump, how he made America great again and I hope other states will follow suit,’ Perry Hopper Jr, a member of the Alabama GOP executive committee, told Fox News.
‘It’s just recognizing him for all the great things he has done for America for bringing back American manufacturing, cutting taxes, creating the best economy ever, building up our military,’ the former state representative continued, comparing Trump to the likes of Ronald Reagan.
The document includes a list of ten of Trump’s achievements as president.
‘President Trump accomplished more in 48 months than Joe Biden did in 48 years as a senator and vice-president,’ the document reads after listing accomplishments.
Printed on a large legal-sized document and displayed on a blue matte and golden frame, the proclamation gives Trump credit for getting vaccines to Americans in ‘record time’.
‘President Trump’s ‘Operation Warp Speed’ delivered safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in record time, which was one of the important feats in medical history,’ the third line of the document reads.

On Wednesday, upon the House passage of Joe Biden’s $1.9trillion coronavirus relief package, Trump sent out a tweet-like statement taking credit for the successful vaccination rollout.
In a statement from the ‘Office of the 45th President’, Trump wrote: ‘I hope everyone remembers when they’re getting the COVID-19 (often referred to as the China Virus) Vaccine, that if I wasn’t President, you wouldn’t be getting that beautiful ‘shot’ for 5 years, at best, and probably wouldn’t be getting it at all. I hope everyone remembers!’
On Thursday, Biden delivered his first public address as president, which also marked the one year anniversary of the coronavirus locks downs.
His administration also announced last week that they would be able to inoculate every American adult by the end of May – two months earlier than previously expected.
The Alabama GOP also lauded the low unemployment numbers under Trump and him appointing an unprecedented three conservative justices to the Supreme Court during his four years in office.
Hooper told Fox that while he was speaking for the Alabama Republican Party, he was not speaking for the many Americans who voted for his reelection in 2020.
‘He’s just done so many great things,’ Hopper said. ‘I was a kid when Reagan was elected and I thought nobody would top the great things Ronald Reagan did but then comes along Donald J Trump and in my opinion, he’s not just one of the great presidents, he is the greatest president we’ve had in America.’
‘We love him in Alabama, America loves him and he got 75 million votes for a reason and I’m speaking basically for 75 million people in America,’ he said.
Hopper served as Trump’s 2016 campaign’s Alabama co-chairman. He also was on the former president’s 2020 campaign’s finance committee.
