CHATTANOOGA—The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is right back on the tee after a fourth-place finish last week in New Orleans. This week they’re just down the road in Kennesaw, Ga., at the Pinetree Collegiate.
Beatriz Barrios had a career-best tie for third finish at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. It was her second top 5 matching Esme Hamilton for team-high honors. Daphne van Son and Dorota Zalewska complete the lineup.
Hamilton’s second top 3 came the week before tying for third at the UNF Collegiate. She and van Son have back-to-back top 20s with van Son tying for 10th at UNF and 17th in New Orleans. All four have had their moments this spring.
Hamilton boasts the top average in 2021 at 75.58, but just 1.59 strokes separate her top number with van Son’s 77.17 with Zalewska (76.67) and Barrios (76.83) close between. They’re trending the right direction with a tie for third and fourth over the last two with two top 5s, three top 10s and six top 20s.
The Pinetree Collegiate is a 2-day, 54-hole event beginning with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start Monday and ending with a final 18 Tuesday. Live scoring and pairings, when available, are available on the team’s GoMocs.com schedule page and linked above.
