The Pfeiffer University men’s golf team swept the top-three places en route to winning their third-straight event in the rain-shortened JWU Spring Invitational played at the par 71, 6,809-yard Emerald Lakes Golf Club in Matthews.
Pfeiffer sophomore Kevin Burris (Norwood) won his third-straight individual title by shooting a 4-under 67. Freshman teammate Elijah Todd (Roebuck, S.C.) finished second with a two-over par 72 while senior Pedro Torres (Guayquil, Ecuador) claimed third with a three-over par 74.
Pfeiffer won the event in the team standing, their third this season. The Falcons managed a 295 (+11) finishing 11 strokes ahead of Southern Virginia.
Currently, Pfeiffer stands 17th nationally in the latest NCAA Division III GolfStat rankings. Burris is currently ranked ninth nationally with a 69.16 scoring average.
