AMES — Gatlin Boell shot an 82 in his season debut, five PCM golfers shot less than 100 and the Mustangs’ boys golf team was second at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational on Monday.
The tournament was played at the Par-71 Ames Golf & Country Club.
PCM shot a 363 to finish second. The race was for second as Gilbert ran away with the team title, shooting a 311 with the top two scorers in the field.
After the Mustangs, the six-team field included North Polk (377), Nevada (380), Bondurant-Farrar (389) and South Hamilton (396).
Boell led the Mustangs with an 82. He had a 40 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. Gilbert’s Brock Snyder was the medalist with a 71 and Gilbert’s Joey Currans was the runner-up with a 79.
The other three counting scores for PCM were Andrew Mitchell’s 93 and Gabe Lanphier’s and Grant Van Veen’s 94.
Grant Landgrebe shot a 96 and Brayden Berger shot a 108.
