Monroe County’s three public golf courses will open next week with COVID-friendly restrictions in place.

The county’s courses at Durand East, Genesee Valley, and Churchville will welcome the first golfers of the season Tuesday, April 6, the county announced Wednesday.

Amid the pandemic, County Executive Adam Bello said the courses experienced record play last year.

“Affordable and accessible golf is one of the many things that make the warm months in Monroe County so enjoyable,” Bello said in a release. “I expect golf will be a popular escape for those looking to get outside and have fun in a safe and responsible manner…”

Tee times can be booked online at https://monroecountyparksgolf.com/. The pro shops will open at each course Monday. Golfers can also book tee times, purchase passes, and obtain permits there. “Driving ranges will be opening as conditions permit,” the county said in a release.
