Men’s golf ties for third place at Williams Spring Invitational

Hamilton College tied for third place out of nine teams in the Williams College Spring Men’s Golf Invitational held at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on April 23 and 24.
 
The Continentals were incredibly consistent all weekend as they recorded a four-man team score of 305 on Saturday and went slightly higher at 307 on Sunday for a tournament score of 612. The hosts captured the team title at 602, Middlebury College was the runner-up (604) and Trinity College finished at 612 with Hamilton.
 
The Continentals placed three golfers in the top 10. Jack McKeon ’22 tied a season best with a 3-over 74 in the first round and added a 76 on Sunday. McKeon’s 36-hole total of 150 is his best this season as he tied for fifth place out of 57 finishers.
 
Jacob Zeng ’24 finished ninth at 153 after rounds of 78 and 75. Zeng’s 4-over 75 led Hamilton in the final round. Billy Geach ’23 tied for 10th place one shot behind Zeng with rounds of 76 and 78. Jack Habeeb ’22 carded a 78 on Sunday and tied for 27th place at 159. Tommy Kantaros ’24 registered a 77 on Saturday and was one shot behind Habeeb at 160.
 
Hamilton hosts the 2022 NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship at Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. Teams start teeing off at 10:30 a.m. for the first round and at 10 a.m. for the final round.
