INDIANA VFW CLOSES SALE OF GOLF COURSE, STARTS ISSUING REFUNDS

Last night, leadership at the Indiana VFW post signed refund checks for those who purchased a golf membership but were not able to use it after the closure of the Indian Springs Golf and Country Club.

The VFW’s senior post commander Donald Strotman said that last night, the leadership met and announced that the sale of the country club property closed at the end of February.  Refunds will be sent out to country club members who bought 2020 memberships in advance.  The members were asked to do so so that the club would have some money to operate with at the start of the season, but later in 2020, the decision was made to not open the golf course and explore options for its sale.  The property was eventually sold for $600,000 to a private buyer.

Strotman said it was important to get the refunds out to those who requested them.

As far as a new home for the VFW goes, they are still considering a lot of options on what the headquarters will look like and where it will be located.  For now, they continue to meet at the Indian Springs Road location.
