BRANCHBURG, N.J. — The Hartford men’s golf team looks to open its spring 2021 slate in strong fashion when it travels to Branchburg, N.J. to partake in the Saint Peter’s Invitational. Held at the Fox Hollow Golf Club, the event tees off on Monday, March 15.

HARTFORD NOTES
- The Hawks head to the course for the first time in nearly a year after the 2020 spring campaign was limited to just one tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Returning eight student-athletes from last year’s squad, the Hawks added freshmen Michael Amari, Conor Byrne and Jack Ritchie Roux
- Among the eight returners, the Hawks are led by senior Ryan Tomaso
- Tomaso posted a team-best 73.65 stroke average in 2019-20, the ninth-best mark in program history
- Tomaso’s production allowed him to be named to the Big Sky All-Conference Honorable Mention and All-New England Division I Team
- Senior Eric Evans averaged a career-best 74.83 strokes over 12 rounds last season, the second-best mark on the team
- Graduate student Elias Gross looks to build upon an impressive senior campaign that saw him land a pair of top-25 finishes
- Manuel Romero returns for his sophomore season after averaging 75.84 strokes over 19 rounds as a freshman
- Romero landed three top-25 finishes last season, including a pair of top-15 efforts
- Head coach Pete Stankevich returns for his seventh season at the helm
