Hartford Hawks Athletics – Men’s Golf Continues Season at Blackledge Golf Club

HEBRON, Conn. — The Hartford men’s golf team continues its season on Monday, when it hosts a six-team tournament at Blackledge Country Club.

HARTFORD NOTES

  • The Hawks tied for fourth in a 16-team field in their 2020-21 season opener, held at Fox Hollows Golf Club in Branchburg, N.J., this past week
  • Grad student Elias Gross and senior Matthew Schwab each posted top-10 finishes for Hartford after tying for sixth with 3-over 73s on the day
  • Senior Ryan Tomaso (79; +9), sophomore Manuel Romero (80; +10) and sophomore Alex Buchanan (88; +18) rounded out the Hawks’ scoring
  • Tomaso is Hartford’s top returner this season after posting the ninth-best stroke average in program history (73.65) in 2019-20
  • He capped off the shortened 2019-20 campaign by earning Big Sky All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades and All-New England Division I Team honors
  • Senior Eric Evans averaged 74.83 strokes over 12 rounds last season, the second-best mark on the team
  • Gross looks to build upon an impressive senior campaign that saw him land a pair of top-25 finishes
