Golf tournament raises $50,000 to prevent child abuse – Press Enterprise

A  recent golf tournament raised more than $50,000 to support Olive Crest‘s child-abuse prevention and treatment programs in Riverside County.

The organization, with offices in Riverside and Palm Desert, annually helps more than 2,100 children in the county and their families, a news release states.

Darnell Bing, a Jim Thorpe Award fnalist, All-Pac 10 safety and two-time national champion at USC, served as event chair for the inaugural Olive Crest Golf Invitational on Feb. 8 in Indian Wells, public relations representative Madeline Zuckerman said. Former fellow USC teammate Oscar Lua was the event sponsor.
