Bobcat Golf Set For Busy Week in Arizona

The Montana State women’s golf team begins its ramp up for the Big Sky Conference Championship as the Bobcats head to Arizona for three events in a little over a week span.

MSU opens its slate in the Copper State by playing in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic held from April 5-6 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa. The Bobcats will be part of a 20-team playing field that competes in three rounds over two days. Both days of action starts at 8:30 a.m. MDT.

Following the Wyoming hosted meet, Montana State travels to Goodyear to play its next two events at the Golf Club of Estrella.

The Bobcats meet Portland State first in a head-to-head competition on Wednesday, April 7. MSU then will host the Bobcat Desert Classic from April 12-13 at the same course. The two-day meet will feature two 18-hole rounds beginning at 8:30 a.m. MDT each day.

“The team is excited to be getting back into competition and playing a golf course,” said Montana State head coach Brittany Bayse. “We have Wyoming’s tournament up first, then a match with Portland State and then our own Bobcat Classic.

“We will be working hard on all the shots we don’t get to practice inside, which is about everything other than swinging a golf club. We will have a good amount of time to work on our games, play competitively, thus preparing us for conference which will be the following week we return home.  We need to find our games, build some confidence and give it our best effort.”

Making up MSU’s lineup during the squad’s stay in Arizona will be Sofia Rodriguez Todd, Kameryn Basye, Hailey Oster, Annika Danenhauer and Hannah Rosanova.
