PAWLEY’S ISLAND, S.C. – The North Dakota State women’s golf team finished sixth at the Golfweek Invitational at the Caledonia Fish and Golf Club Tuesday.
NDSU shot a 304 in the final round, finishing with a three-round total of 932. South Carolina Upstate swept the team and individual titles, shooting an 872, accompanied by Beem Pabsimma finishing first with a 215.
Juniors Taylor McCorkle and Lexi Geolat both finished in the top 15. McCorkle finished tied for 11th with a 228 and recorded three birdies in the final round, as she shot a 74 in the final round. Geolat tied for 13th with a 231, after shooting a 74 in the third round. Senior Alexis Thomas finished in a tie for 23rd after shooting a 79 in the final round, bringing her three-round total to 234.
Freshman Catherine Monty finished in 33rd with a 241, while sophomore Maddie Herzog rounded out the lineup for the Bison with a 256, finishing in 41st. Monty shot a 79 in the final round, while Herzog shot a 77. Herzog recorded a pair of birdies in the final round.
The Bison return to action in Elkhorn, Neb. at the Stampede at the Creek April 12-13.
