WARRENSBURG, Mo. — After a 15-stroke improvement from day-one to day-two, the Augustana women’s golf team took home sixth-place at the Midwest Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Central Missouri. The Vikings entered day-two in eighth place.

Individually, sophomore Molly Stevens led the Vikings, tying for ninth-place in the tournament. Stevens shot a 76 in round two, shaving four strokes off of her day-one total to improve upon her placing of 21st on day-one. For Stevens, it’s the fifth time in her young career that she has earned a top-10 finish.
Freshman Lauren Tims, making her debut for the Vikings, followed Stevens with a two-day score of 163 with rounds of 80 and 83, respectively. Tims tied for 22nd place in the tournament.
Senior Natalie Young followed Tims with a two-day score of 165 and tied for 27th place. Young shot a 77 in her second round, an 11-stroke improvement from her round one total.
After Young, junior Hanna Morin, junior Kait Asklund and senior Alex Stone all finished within six strokes of each other with two-day scores of 166, 168 and 172, respectively. All three golfers either kept their day-one score or improved upon their day one score.
Freshmen Rachel Halvorson and Rachel Schwarz and sophomore Sophia Salter all made their Augustana debuts this week, posting two-day scores of 177, 183 and 211, respectively.
