The first two days of the 2021 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass were tremendous, and a fascinating leaderboard should make for a really great weekend finish as well. Lee Westwood (-9) leads with fellow Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick (-8) right on his heels and a whole host of huge names all within seven shots.
There was a 65 on both Thursday and Friday from the best field in golf, and if somebody like Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa or Jordan Spieth starts to go crazy in Round 3, Saturday could get crazy in a hurry. This course always delivers, and the drama should be terrific again in Round 3 with the first massive title of 2021 on the line, an incredible field vying for the trophy and maybe the best finishing stretch in the world on tap.
