Arsenal returned to winning ways by grinding out a win to nil, away at Wolves – while playing out the last 21 minutes of the game with Gabriel Martinelli sent off for two yellow cards, controversially within the same passage of play.
This win meant a lot for the race to the top four, but the post-match celebrations have drawn mainstream coverage after Wolves’ star Portuguese midfielder opened fire in the post-match press.
In quotes carried via the Express, Wolves’ star midfielder Ruben Neves didn’t hold back in his verdict on the manner in which Arsenal won and celebrated the 1-0 at Molineux;
“With their goal there is some doubt about whether it was a foul or not but that’s football. We are used to these decisions.”
“We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn’t see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years – it was like they won the league.”
Arsenal are next in action on February 19th at home to struggling Brentford.
