Manchester United beat Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, and somewhat got revenge for the 6-1 drubbing in the reverse fixture. Manchester United fully deserved the win.
They were by far the better team, and Tottenham, well, were really bad almost all game. They failed to create many chances, and were honestly lucky that United weren’t able to score more than three. It was not for a lack of trying.
It was a controversial first half, which I’m sure you’ll read a lot about in posts all over the internet so I’ll just give my thoughts on it really quickly: The goal should’ve counted, and if not, then similar punishment should’ve been given for the challenge on Marcus Rashford a few moments prior.

Will Tottenham Hotspur be able to qualify for Champions League next season?
I’m going to be honest, the quest for top four doesn’t look good at all. Tottenham are in seventh place, six points behind West Ham, who are on fourth place. The Spurs might go even further down the table because Everton are just two points behind them with two games in hand.
The North London club has managed only two victories in their last five games, and for a club that is supposed to challenge for the top four places, it’s very dull and disappointing. You can’t be putting out performances like this when you’re supposed to challenge for the European spots and even less so at this stage of the season.
There are chances Tottenham get into Europa League (or, at least the qualifying rounds) by winning the Carabao Cup. They are up against Manchester City, though, and it doesn’t look too good for the Spurs. Unfortunately, even if they do win, it may not be enough with respect to their future aspirations.
This season might be Harry Kane’s last at Tottenham.
The farther they are from the Champions League spots, the closer Harry Kane is to finally leaving Tottenham. This is a player who has given everything that he possibly could have for the club. He’s been a consistent scorer for over five seasons and has the most goal contributions in the league. So, really, it’s going to be a very surprising decision if he ends up staying at the club.
This is not even me throwing darts with my eyes closed. There have been reports of him seeking to leave the club should Tottenham lose out on a Champions League berth. If that does happen, I won’t blame him one bit. He’s going to be 28 years old this summer, you know?
Now is the time to think about whether he wants to stay at a club that hasn’t won a trophy in years, or if he wants to go for greener pastures and bigger aspirations. Judging by the reports, he’s probably going to choose the latter.
These last seven games remain the most crucial for Tottenham Hotspur. It all depends on just how much the players want to see Champions League action next season. But, as I said, even if they win all seven games, it’s still not confirmed that they go through.
