Scottish champions Rangers have been beaten in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Malmo FF on Tuesday.
The Swedish champions netted twice in quick succession after half-time from Soren Rieks and Veljko Birmancevic.
But Rangers pulled a goal back in the 90th minute from Northern Irish midfielder Steven Davis to offer an aggregate boost ahead of the second leg in Glasgow.
“We are disappointed with the result and disappointed with the couple of goals we have conceded, but there has just been a big moment at the very end of that game which has gone in our favour and it is a big moment in my opinion,” Rangers boss Steven Gerrard said.
“It sets it up for next week – it is not the position we wanted to be in, but it is obviously a lot better than going in from 2-0, and we were also on the verge of maybe going even worse as well.
“The injury-time has been very big for us, but our performance over the 90 minutes hasn’t been enough, so we are going to have to go up levels individually and collectively for next week.”
Elsewhere, Mario Gotze netted as PSV Eindhoven claimed a stronghold of their tie against Danish champions Midtjylland with a 3-0 home win.
Greek powerhouse Olympiakos needed an 87th-minute equaliser from Aguibou Camara to rescue a 1-1 home draw with Ludogorets.
Monaco won 2-0 at Sparta Prague, CFR Cluj drew 1-1 with Young Boys, Shakhtar Donetsk triumphed 2-1 at Genk and Red Star Belgrade drew 1-1 with Sheriff.
