Arsenal fans had plenty to cheer about on Sunday, as Mikel Arteta’s side cruised to a 3-1 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby at the Emirates.
Goals from Emile Smith-Rowe, Piere-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka saw the Gunners race into a 3-0 half-time lead and, despite Heung-Min Son’s second-half consolation goal, the hosts hung on to secure their third successive Premier League victory and leapfrog their opponents.
The victory also saw a number of the club’s new signings impress, with Takehiro Tomiyasu, Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White all starring in the victory.
The three players all arrived over the summer, along with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares, as technical director Edu spearheaded a summer spending spree.
It has also been rumoured that the club will not put an end to their spending just yet, with a number of targets identified ahead of next summer’s window.
Now, it appears that the North Londoners are also already looking to offload some fringe players, to free up squad space and raise funds for more signings.
According to Calciomercato via Football Italia, Serie A side AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman’s current contract expires next summer, and has reportedly been offered to the Italian side as early as this summer.
Lacazette has scored 72 goals in 192 games for Arsenal since joining the club in 2017
Lacazette is yet to make a starting line up in the Premier League so far this season, with his only start coming in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon.
Milan’s current crop of strikers includes 35-year-old Olivier Giroud and 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently signed a 12 month contract extension.
As well as Lacazette, it appears that another striker could be departing the Emirates soon.
Journalist Ekrem Konur is reporting that Eddie Nketiah is intent on leaving the club in January in search of regular first team football.
The 22-year-old has played just 83 minutes of first team football this season, and is yet to be included in a Premier League matchday squad.
Brentford, Leeds United and Aston Villa have all been touted as possible destinations for the England under-21 international, who has been prolific at youth level.
