An insight into the stance of the board at Tottenham Hotspur when it comes to manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s future has been forthcoming on Saturday night.
Rashford rounds out rout
Nuno of course led his floundering troops back into action earlier today.
On the back of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of capital rivals West Ham last weekend, Spurs welcomed Manchester United to north London, eyeing a swift return to winning ways.
When all was said and done, however, the Lilywhites only succeeded in slipping to a deserved 2nd-straight loss.
Another lackadaisical display ultimately culminated in the hosts being put to the sword by three goals to nil, owing to strikes from all of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford:

Manchester United, in turn, have climbed back above their hosts in the Premier League table, and into 5th.
‘Give him more time’
At Tottenham, on the other hand, the mood appears considerably less rosy on Saturday night…
Nuno’s men looked, in truth, abysmal throughout the 90 minutes in north London today, both toothless in attack, and concerningly susceptible to being carved wide open at the back.
As a result, with their side lacking any form of identity or even basic plan on the pitch, it should come as little surprise to hear of the Lilywhites faithful beginning to turn on the club’s boss.
Calls mounted at both the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and across social media this evening for Nuno to be moved on with immediate effect, just months after taking up the reins in the English capital.
“You don’t know what you’re doing,” some #THFC fans sing at Nuno after he replaces Moura with Bergwijn. 55 mins gone. Still 0-1.

And, as outlined above, late tonight, an update on the future of the Portuguese tactician has indeed been forthcoming online.
The news, however, will no doubt come as a blow for the ‘Nuno Out’ brigade, with the reliable Sam Wallace of The Telegraph having confirmed that the Spurs hierarchy ‘are not currently minded to remove’ their summer hire:
‘It is understood that the club are not currently minded to remove Nuno and will give him more time to turn it around.’ – @SamWallaceTel reports #THFC https://t.co/GdtkqEj6j4
