Theo Hernández has been called-up by Didier Deschamps for the upcoming international break, but Olivier Giroud was left out of the squad.
Theo Hernández was not at his best on Matchday 1 of Serie A when Milan beat Sampdoria 1-0, but there’s no denying that he’s been one of the best left-backs in the world since signing for the Rossoneri from Real Madrid two summers ago.
Today, the moment Theo has been waiting for has finally arrived: France coach Didier Deschamps announced his squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 1st, Ukraine on September 4th and Finland on September 8th.
In the squad named by Didier – there’s the 23-year-old ex-Real Madrid man. Theo is joined by Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who is the second-choice goalkeeper of France behind Hugo Lloris. In the meantime, Olivier Giroud was left out of the squad and will be at Milanello in early September.
Meanwhile, Alexis Saelemaekers has been called-up by Belgium for their matches against Estonia on September 2, Czech Republic three days later, and then visits Belarus on September 8.
