COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Steve Suter, Maryland’s all-time leader in punt return yards and return touchdowns, has been named the new color analyst for the Maryland Sports Radio Network football broadcasts, it was announced today.

Suter, who co-hosted the weekly Maryland football coaches radio show from 2014-18, will reunite with the legendary “Voice of the Terps” Johnny Holliday to call all Maryland football games in 2021. Holliday, a 2009 inductee to the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame, is entering his 43rd season calling Terrapin football and men’s basketball games.

“I’m beyond thrilled about this opportunity to join the Maryland Sports Radio Network,” said Suter. “I hope to bring a unique perspective to the broadcast as both a former player and someone that has tremendous passion for this university and this program. I love the way Coach Locksley is building the Maryland Football Family and I’m looking forward to being around the team a lot more. I have a great relationship with Johnny that goes back nearly two decades and I’m excited to have the chance to sit alongside a legend to call Terrapin football games this fall.”

Suter, a two-time First Team All-ACC selection, ranks first in program history in career punt return yards (1,271) and return touchdowns (6). He was named Second Team All-America by the Sporting News in 2002. Suter ranks seventh all-time in program history in career all-purpose yards (3,687) and kickoff return yards (1,259), while standing 12th all-time in yards per reception (16.8).

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work alongside some tremendous former Terps during my career and they all bring something special to the booth,” said Holliday. “I fully expect the same thing with Steve. He’s an all-time great player, who Maryland fans love because of the way he played the game and the toughness he brought. He has tremendous pride for his alma mater and I know him and Coach Locksley have a strong bond. I enjoyed having Steve join me on the weekly coaches radio show for a number of years and am now even more excited for the enthusiasm and knowledge that he’ll bring to our game broadcasts.”

All Maryland football games during the 2021 season will be broadcast live on 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore and The Team 980 in Washington, D.C.

The Terps open the 2021 season at home against West Virginia on September 4. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
