The Steelers (3-3) overcame a tough battle versus the Seahawks (2-4) on ‘Sunday Night Football,’ winning 23-20 in overtime.
The Steelers led heading into halftime 14-0, but the Seahawks exploded back in the second half tying the game 20-20 at the end of regulation.
Although Russell Wilson missed his first game in a decade, he still participated in the coin toss for overtime. The Seahawks won the coin toss in overtime, but couldn’t make it to field goal range on their first drive after T.J. Watt sacked Geno Smith. The Steelers then went three-and-out on their drive. But, Smith then fumbled the ball on their next drive, giving Pittsburgh the chance to make the field goal and complete their primetime win.

Watt finished the game with seven tackles, two sacks and one fumble. The highest paid defensive player in history showed why he earns the most money after his performance.

Seahawks running back Alex Collins completed 101 rushing yards with one touchdown. It’s his only triple digit rushing game of the season so far. Steelers rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth both finished the game with 58 yards, the most of his NFL career.

12:02 a.m. — FIELD GOAL. Boswell completes the 37-yard field goal for the Steelers win.
12:00 a.m. — Watt forces a fumble as Devin Bush picks up the ball. The Steelers have another chance to score.
11:58 p.m. — The Steelers go three-and-out. A little under five minutes remains in overtime.
11:55 p.m. — Watt sacks Smith on third down for a loss of 13 yards. The Seahawks are not in field goal range, so the Steelers receive the ball.
11:53 p.m. — Lockett completes a 21-yard gain and the Seahawks end up on their on 49-yard line.
11:52 p.m. — Seattle wins the coin toss and gets the ball first in overtime.
End of regulation: Seahawks 20, Steelers 20
11:47 p.m. — FIELD GOAL. The Seahawks complete a 43-yard field goal, and this game is going to overtime.
11:45 p.m. — After review, the pass is deemed complete and three seconds are put back on the clock. The fans thought the game was already over since the clock went to zero.
11:41 p.m. — Metcalf catches the ball, but the play goes under review as the clock goes down to zero. There is confusion on the field.
11:38 p.m. — Metcalf juggles the ball but makes the catch on Steelers’ 42-yard line. No challenge is called on the play. Following this play, Dallas catches the ball, then fumbles it back for a gain of seven yards.
Steelers 20, Seahawks 17
11:34 p.m. — FIELD GOAL. Chris Boswell makes a 52-yard field goal to take the lead.
11:33 p.m. — Harris runs for 12 yards to get the Steelers in field goal range on fourth down. 1:35 remains in the game.
11:31 p.m. — Claypool catches a ball out of bounds, and he is flagged for pass interference on the play. They lose 10 yards and end up on the Seahawks’ 36-yard line. They are now out of field goal range on second down.
11:27 p.m. — Harris completes another first down after play resumes. The Steelers are now on the Seahawks’ 41-yard line.
11:21 p.m. — All the Seahawks and Steelers players go out on the field in support for Taylor as he deals with a severe neck injury on the field. Taylor is carted off the field.
11:15 p.m. — Harris gets another first down for the Steelers and end up on their 46-yard line. Seahawks’ Darrell Taylor remains on the field as the medical staff come to help him.
11:14 p.m. — Freiermuth completes his sixth catch of the night for a first down.
11:12 p.m. — The Seahawks only have the ball for two minutes with no first downs. The Steelers get the ball back with 5:19 to go.
11:09 p.m. — After two incomplete Roethlisberger throws, the Steelers lose the ball again. 7:38 minutes remain in the game.
11:05 p.m. — The Steelers get the first down they need from Claypool. They have a gain of 12 yards to end on their own 34-yard line.
11:02 p.m. — Watt deflects another Smith throw forcing the Seahawks to a third down. Norwood holds Freddie Swain back for the Steelers to get the ball again.
11:01 p.m. — Collins runs for a first down, but it is overturned after a penalty was called on Jamarco Jones for offensive holding.
11:00 p.m. — After review, the call was overturned and the play was deemed a fumble. It’s the first turnover of the game, and the Seahawks remain on the Steelers’ 38-yard line.
10:54 p.m. — Roethlisberger doesn’t release the ball correctly and the Seahawks hop on the ball. Seattle challenges in hopes for a fumble. The pass was ruled incomplete.
10:53 p.m. — Running back Kalen Ballage completes another first down for the Steelers as they end up on their own 37-yard line.
10:52 p.m. — The Steelers open up their drive with a first down by Harris.

10:49 p.m. — FIELD GOAL. The game is now tied after the Seahawks field goal is good.
10:48 p.m. — Smith is sacked by Highsmith on third down to stop the Seahawks from scoring a touchdown.

10:44 p.m. — Homer advances 26 yards to finish out the third quarter. The Seahawks are now on the 15-yard line.

10:38 p.m. — The Steelers cannot answer the Seahawks’ scoring drive. They lose the ball after going three-and-out.

10:31 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN. Another tight end Will Dissly scores the touchdown for the Seahawks as they now only trail by one scoring possession.
10:30 p.m. — Tight end Gerald Everett catches the pass and almost makes it to the endzone for a gain of 41 yards. The Seahawks end up on the 2-yard line.
10:29 p.m. — Lockett completes a first down for the Seahakws for a gain of 14 yards.

10:24 p.m. — FIELD GOAL. The Steelers only completed 12 yards on third down when they needed 14. So, they kick a field goal on fourth down to extend their lead to 10.
10:22 p.m. — The Steelers lose 10 yards after Claypool was flagged for illegal blocking and Chukwuma Okorafor was flagged for offensive holding. Claypool’s flag was declined.
10:20 p.m. — Johnson catches a 25-yard throw from Roethlisberger to end up on the Seahawks’ 17-yard line.
10:20 p.m. — Johnson completes the pass for the first down and a gain of 14 yards on the third down play. The Steelers are now in Seahawks territory.
10:15 p.m. — McCloud makes his first completion of the night for a first down and 15-yard gain.

10:09 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN. Collins completes his successful drive by putting the Seahawks on the board. Collins was responsible for 58 of the 75 yards in that drive.
10:08 p.m. — Watt gets an unnecessary roughness penalty for attempting to punch the football, but ends up hitting Collins. The Seahawks move to the fifth yard line.
10:07 p.m. — Collins with another first down, putting Seahawks up for a their first first-and-goal of the game. This drive has been 65 yards so far, which is as much as Seattle had in the first half.
10:06 p.m. — DeeJay Dallas completes another first down for the Seahawks. They are on the Steelers’ 24-yard line.
10:04 p.m. — Alex Collins runs for five yards and a first down, followed up by an 11-yard gain and another first down.
10:02 p.m. — The second half begins as the Seahawks receive the kick.

9:36 p.m. — TOUCHDOWN. Ebron rushes into the endzone for his first touchdown of the season. The Steelers extra point is good.
9:33 p.m. — Chase Claypool completes a six-yard gain for his first catch of the day. The Steelers are now first-and-goal.
9:30 p.m. — The two-minute warning approaches as Steelers are on third down.
9:29 p.m. — Two defensive penalities on this drive result in a gain of 20 yards total for the Steelers. They remain on the Seattle 24-yard line.
9:26 p.m. — Freiermuth completes another first down. The crowd chants “Muuuuuth!” similar to how they used to cheer for Pittsburgh’s former tight end Heath Miller by yelling “Heaaaath!”

Steelers coverage guys did a nice job. The Seahawks player touched the ball to throw it back out of the end zone. That made it live for them without any fear of a fumble. They helped drive the ball into the end zone for a touchback.

8:44 p.m. — They follow it up with another first down, this time a 12-yard gain from wide receiver Penny Hart.
8:43 p.m. — Seahawks running back Travis Homer completes Seattle’s first first down as they gain 27 yards.
8:37 p.m. — Ben Roethlisberger escapes a sack attempt and throws to tight end Pat Freiermuth on third down. The Steelers lose the ball.
8:35 p.m. — Diontae Johnson completes the first first down of the game. The Steelers are on their own 42-yard line.
8:31 p.m. — Before the Seahawks performed their third down, a fan ran on the field. The Seahawks go three-and-out as well. No first downs in the first four and a half minutes of the game.
