Sol Campbell has suggested Aaron Ramsey could make a shock return to Arsenal this summer.

The 30-year-old left the Gunners to join Juventus on a free transfer in 2019 after making 371 appearances during a 11-year spell at the Emirates.

Ramsey has also been linked with a move to Everton in recent months

Ramsey has struggled with injury problems and form in Turin and has been linked with a summer exit.

The Welshman reminded everyone of his quality with the opening goal in Wales’ 2-0 win over Turkey at Euro 2020 on Wednesday, which put the Dragons on the cusp of qualifying for the knockout stages.

And Arsenal legend Campbell insists the midfielder has put himself in the shop window.

He told talkSPORT: “Aaron Ramsey makes amazing runs. The timings are to perfection, it’s incredible. He’s got a knack of getting in there.

“You need those players who can get in there. You need those guys who can smell, ‘something’s opening up here’.

“Turkey were playing three at the back, so Ramsey was just waiting for that gap and [Gareth] Bale found him for the first goal. He’s very intelligent with those runs.

“He’s working hard, he’s making great runs. He’s a top, top class player. Maybe he’s in the shop window!

“He might take a little return to north London and see what’s happening at Arsenal – you never know.”

Wales stunned the football world by beating Belgium to reach the semi-finals at Euro 2016.

Campbell has backed the Dragons to be a force at Euro 2020 and reach the last four again.

“Wales have a really solid team with Ben Davies, Joe Rodon, Connor Roberts and Danny Ward. They know what they’re doing,” Campbell added.

“Something’s not quite right with [defending] the corners and free-kicks, there were a few too many free headers [against Turkey].

“They have to address that, but other than that, they’re excellent.

“You’ve got Joe Allen, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Morrell, Gareth Bale, they could easily get to the semi-finals if they keep playing like that. It’s incredible.”
