Scottish Cup draw in full as St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson picks out some tasty ties

The second round draw for this season’s Scottish Cup has taken place at Hampden Park.

Last season’s cup double winning St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson conducted the draw and the ties will take place the weekend of Saturday October 23.

After the draw, Davidson spoke about what winning the famous trophy meant to him last season, saying: “Achieving the cup double is something that hasn’t been done for a long time. Aberdeen were a team full of international players when they did it back in 1990, so for a group of players like us it was a phenomenal achievement to create some sort of history.

“When the odds are against you – looking back at that quarter final against Rangers, we thought we were out. Those little moments, those special moments that we all love in football, happened and we managed to capitalise on our good fortune in that game.

“I started my career in Perth, finished my career in Perth and started my coaching journey there too, so it’s a place that means a lot to me. The joy on peoples’ faces, the pride in their local team: it gives others optimism for the future. Not just St Johnstone, but other communities, it gives the hope that they can achieve something. I’m just delighted that I was part of the group that did it.”
