Milan need to offload a number of players who are surplus to requirements, and Caldara & Colombo may leave.

The Rossoneri are building their squad for next season, in which they’ll compete in the Champions League in addition to Serie A, and apart from getting new signings, they are looking to sell and loan men.

Mattia Caldara returned to the club this summer after Atalanta chose to not use their buy-out option on the player following his 18-month loan at the club.

Due to injuries and technical choices, Caldara only played twice in official games for Milan. He’s been training under the eyes of Stefano Pioli since the pre-season began, but could soon find himself in a new club. As reported by Milannews.it and others, newly-promoted side Venezia are interested.

Venezia are pressing to get Caldara and today Paolo Poggi, who is Responsible for the Technical Area at Venezia and Director of Sport Mattia Collauto were at Casa Milan to discuss the center back. “He is at Milan and within a couple of weeks we’ll make some evaluations. There are important and newly promoted clubs [interested], let’s see”, Caldara’s agent Beppe Riso told Tuttomercatoweb on Thursday. “It’s a choice whether to go and play 38 games or go and play somewhere else.”

Meanwhile, Milannews.it suggests that the future of striker Lorenzo Colombo should be in Serie B, with SPAL currently the team closest to get the player, who was at Cremonese on loan for half a year.
