Television replays have proven that referee Rustum Senorgbe denied Asante Kotoko what appeared to be a legitimate penalty in last Sunday’s Ghana Premier League Super Clash.
Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan hacked down Kotoko forward Franck Etouga Mbella inside the penalty area in second-half stoppage-time.
Despite the obvious foul inside the box, the center referee signaled for offside after his assistant one indicated that the Kotoko striker was in an offside position.
Below is a video analysis of the incident and why the referee got the decision wrong.
