Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville made his debut for the club on Friday – and received a message from Whites target Noa Lang.

The Whites travelled up to the North East on Friday night to take on Newcastle United.

Raphinha put Leeds ahead, only for Allan Saint-Maximin to equalise and give Newcastle a share of the spoils.

Raphinha ended up going off injured in the second half, with Marcelo Bielsa throwing Summerville on out wide.

Summevrville celebrates finally making Leeds debut

Winger Summerville, 19, emerged as a hot prospect at Feyenoord. After rejecting a new contract in 2020, Feyenoord sold Summerville to Leeds.

After spending last season playing for Leeds’ Under-23’s, the Dutchman finally got the call by Bielsa on Friday.

Summerville took to Instagram to celebrate, and received messages from a number of other players.

Helder Costa, Pascal Struijk, Tyler Roberts, Jack Harrison and Leif Davis were just some of the players with Leeds ties who congratulated Summerville.

Noa Lang of Club Brugge also sent a message to his compatriot. Lang stated ‘Best is yet to come little brother’ having missed out on joining Summerville at Leeds.

Bielsa decided against bringing Lang to Leeds

Leeds were heavily linked with signing Lang over the summer.

Victor Orta and Marcelo Bielsa wanted another winger. Lang was on the radar after hitting 17 goals and 11 assists last season.

In the end though, Bielsa abandoned the pursuit of Lang according to The Athletic. Leeds ended up signing Daniel James from Manchester United instead.

Lang is already off to a hot start this season with three goals and four assists in eight league games. The 22-year-old looks like a huge talent, and Leeds may hope to see Summerville hit similar sights in the future.
