Red Bulls Travel to Soldier Field to Battle Chicago Fire FC on Saturday Night

HARRISON, N.J. -The New York Red Bulls (4-2-2, 14 pts.) will travel to Soldier Field on Saturday, April 30, to battle Chicago Fire FC (2-2-4, 10 pts.). Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.


Coverage on MSG begins at 7:30 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 7 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

This will be the 64th meeting in regular season history between New York and Chicago, with Chicago holding the advantage in the series with a 20-30-13 mark. New York is coming off a 3-0 win over Orlando City at Exploria Stadium and are unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions. Chicago most recently lost 3-0 to Minnesota United FC on Saturday, April 23. Despite the loss, Chicago have only conceded five goals in eight matches this season, which ranks tied for first in MLS.

The Red Bulls have won their first four road matches of the season and became the third team in MLS history to accomplish that and the first since the Los Angeles Galaxy in 1998. New York has scored 11 goals on the road this season, which ranks tied for first in MLS. Out of the 11 goals, New York has had seven different goal scorers on the road this year, including Brazilian midfielder Luquinhas, who scored his first career MLS goal in New York’s 3-0 win over Orlando City SC on Sunday, April 24.

New York goalkeeper Carlos Coronel recorded his third shutout of the season and his 17th career one in MLS in the Red Bulls’ latest victory. With the shutout, Coronel is now tied with former New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul for fourth place in franchise history in shutouts with 16. The Brazilian goalkeeper has recorded a clean sheet in back-to-back matches. The Red Bulls defense has only allowed six goals in eight matches this season, which ranks tied for the fourth lowest in MLS.

Following Saturday’s match, New York will travel back to Red Bull Arena to face off against Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 7. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
