Rangers star Glen Kamara is winning plaudits from fans all over the continent this evening after a classy showing for Finland in their Euro 2020 opener.
It was an historic event for the Finns with the Group B clash against Denmark their first-ever official match at a major tournament, and it ended in a 1-0 victory courtesy of Joel Pohjanpalo powerful second-half header.
But whilst the Union Berlin striker claimed the glory for his decisive goal, Gers midfielder Kamara was hailed for his tenacious and clever display in the Finland midfield.
Of course, Rangers supporters have become rather accustomed to Kamara’s regularly excellent displays, but the 25-year-old seems to have won over a few more fans tonight.
One Twitter user wrote: “Glen Kamara has the ability, tactical awareness and positional discipline to play for any club in England. Such an intelligent footballer.”
Another wrote: “This Glen Kamara dude in Finland is class! N’golo Kante class! #UefaEuro2020”
This fan added: “Glen Kamara appreciation tweet, he’s a beast in Finland midfield #EURO2020”
Whilst this onlooker concluded: “Glen Kamara is a very good player. Reminds me so much of N’Golo Kanté.”

Against all the odds, Kamara and Finland will now attempt to reach the knockout stages of the competition by beating Russia on Wednesday afternoon in Saint Petersburg.
And if Kamara can muster up another man of the match showing, the Russian midfield could be in for a stern test.
