This comes at a welcome time as Gers get set to host Malmo in the second-leg of their Champions League third round qualifier.

This season’s first Old Firm clash will also be played in front of a full house on August 29.

It’s yet to be known how many, if any tickets will be allocated to Celtic fans for the first showpiece fixture.

The Sunday lunchtime clash will be the first derby for Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou.

Gers trail 2-1 from the first leg in Malmo, with Steven Gerrard calling on the Ibrox support to get behind the team for the full 90 minutes.

A statement read: “Rangers can confirm there will be a full capacity at Ibrox Stadium going forward, subject to conditions prescribed by the Safety Advisory Group of Glasgow City Council.

“The ticket office will be in contact with season tickets holders today to confirm the process for ticket allocation for Tuesday’s match v Malmö.

“We cannot wait to hear you roaring, from the stands of Ibrox Park.”

This follows Nicola Sturgeon’s announcement on Tuesday that restrictions on crowd sizes would continue.

She said: “While we expect the careful return of large scale events we will, for a limited period, keep in place the processes through which organisers of outdoor events of more than 5000 and indoor events of more than 2000 will have to apply for permission.

“This will allow us and local authorities to be assured of the arrangements in place to reduce risk.”

This forced Rangers to seek permission from Glasgow City Council who have approved that request.

Gerrard said the Gers support would be needed in the second-leg as he issued a rallying cry for the first time in his tenure.

He told Rangers TV after the game: “There has been a big moment and it’s gone n our favour. A big moment in my opinion.

“It sets it up for next week. I’m going to call on the Rangers crowd. I’ve never done it before but we are going to need them for the full 90 minutes behind us.”

Gerrard revealed he almost couldn’t believe his eyes when he stood watching Rangers concede twice in Sweden.

He’s used to heaping huge praise on his defence for the way they cope under pressure.

But this time Gerrard has questioned the leadership in his back line to get themselves into that situation in the 2-1 defeat.

He said: “We prepared for a high press and we prepared for an aggressive team, and a team that works extremely hard.

“We prepared for quality in the No 10 position and I thought their No 9 played very well as well.

“So we prepared for what came our way. We just didn’t handle it in our best way — we didn’t put in a performance which was at Rangers’ level.

“But hopefully next week we’ll improve, and I’m sure we can find the performance we need.

“It was good play from Malmo at the start of the second half. You have to pay respect to their play as they scored two good goals.

“But from my perspective it was obviously very disappointing with our defending. We lost our way as a team for four or five minutes.

“When we conceded the first it was important the leaders in the team got control and stayed calm.

“But we lost our way twice in a short space of time. And at this level, against good players, you get punished.”
